What is a typical day at Auto Truck Group like?

My day starts checking phones and taking care of any call-ins for the day. Next I look up the daily gig sheet – gathering information on the QC items that failed during inspection and sending details out to the shop. But I’d have to say that most of my time is spent working on process sheets, sending tech bulletins updating everyone on any changes or actions that needs to take place for a particular build, and ensuring that all safety guards are in place.

What do you like most about your job at Auto Truck?

I enjoy taking photos of the builds and creating documents that tell the story of how the units should be built.

What advice would you give prospective employees?

Hard Work Pays Off!

What is your favorite quote?

“You’re Killing Me Smalls” ~ from the 1993 movie “Sandlot”

What has been your favorite project you worked on?

Pilot Flying J would have to be my favorite. I really enjoyed documenting the lengthy process and getting to travel to Fort Worth was a bonus.

As a kid what did you see yourself being when you grew up?

I wanted to be a fire fighter.

Is there anything about you that people would be surprised if they knew?

In high school I was the Brass/Trumpet Section Leader for the marching band.

If given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?

If I had the opportunity to be someone else for the day it would have to be Nascar Driver, Kevin Harvick. Being behind the wheel of an
850 horsepower car flying around the banks of Daytona International Speedway at high rates of speed would be an awesome experience.

What’s your favorite childhood memory?

My favorite childhood memory is whitewater rafting down the New River with my mother and sister. Going down the river, hitting big rapids, jumping from the raft; all made the raft trip memorable.

Where would you like to travel to?

I would love to travel to the Bahamas – going on a snorkeling tour, maybe take my wife on a sunset cruise, or even just taking the family on a beach escape would be nice.
